Experience

The most relevant experience for chairing a Democratic Committee is having successfully chaired a Democratic Committee.

What is the most relevant experience for chairing a Democratic Committee? I think that the most relevant experience is actually having successfully chaired a Democratic Committee. I was a district chair for six years, and I’m ready to take it to the county level.

I joined FCDC in 2010. In 2011, I was elected Chair of the Providence District Democratic Committee.

I have very much enjoyed my six years as Providence District Chair. We more than doubled our membership while I was chair, and we  did better each year in turning out the vote. Altogether, I think we’ve done a good job of making the committee an effective organization.

So I have been around for a few cycles and I have gotten a good idea of how FCDC works. And I have come to the conclusion that FCDC could use some shaking up.

As a district chair, I very much appreciated the challenges of chairing a district committee. As FCDC chair, I pledge to work closely with the district chairs. I will see to it that you get all the support you need. We will work together to disseminate best practices among the committees in a way that recognizes each district’s special strengths.

Endorsements

I have received the endorsement and support of a number of elected officials, both within Providence and outside of Providence, as well as the support of a large number of Democrats in the County. They are supporters because they have seen up close and personal that I have the experience, leadership and organizational skills to actually implement what I’ve said I would do. They would like me to do for FCDC what I have done for Providence.
